How to Take Care of Skin in Winter by Natural Oils

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

The Natural Exfoliation at Home

Indeed the entire body sheds a layer of dead skin daily, but most of it remains stuck to the surface of the skin and do not fall off. This process thickens the skin, chokes the pores, block the growth of hair, and stops the natural capillary rise of oils to the surface of the skin. That is why the skin becomes dry moments later after the application of moisturisers and looks dirty after the use of skin cleansers.

The exfoliating reduces the visibility of pores and wrinkles on the surface of skin. But it does not cleanse, and on the other hand the cleansing does not exfoliate the skin. Both the processes are to be followed separately.

Before face exfoliating, thoroughly cleanse and rinse with lukewarm water. Thereafter immediately apply the required hydrator or moisturizer according to skin type. First of all wash the face, gently rub and towel dry the skin. The towel creates light friction, which removes the superficial and dead skin layers.

Mix about half a tablespoon of baking soda with equal amount of cleanser and gently rub for 2-3 minutes, in circular rotations by applying medium to light pressure. For dry skin mix coconut oil instead of cleanser, and use the remedy twice a week. For further oil absorption in oily skin, keep the application of baking powder on face for 15 minutes. For body treatment avoid the neck and breasts.

To cleanse with sugar scrub, first rinse the skin to remove dirt and oils, then mix sugar and coconut or jojoba oil in equal amounts and apply the mixture for not more than 1 minute on the face or the part of the body with a cotton swab.

To exfoliate the stubborn areas like the knees and elbows, use salt in place of sugar and lemon or loofah.

How to Take Care of Hair in Summer

The sunscreens and hats are used to save the skin and face from the harmful effects of the sunlight. But the hair too needs extra care during the scorching heat of summer.
Tie the hair lightly
Wikimedia Commons by Anna reg

The hair gets badly affected when they come in contact with the hard skin scorched in sunlight.
The sweat, sunlight, moisture and excess time in swimming pool damage the hair.

The hair becomes rough and hard in dust and hot air.

Some extra care is needed in summer to keep the hair strong, shiny and healthy.

The best way is to wash and dry them daily as it reduces the loss of hair due to moisture and sweating.

A healthy diet like soy and sprouted foods are also necessary for the nourishment of shiny hair.

While going out in sunlight between 11 AM to 3 PM, always cover the head with a scarf, cap or umbrella, as the sunlight and hence the ultraviolet rays are the strongest at this time.

Trim the split hair caused due to dryness because they may fall off on becoming weak.

Use right shampoo and conditioner for the split hair.

Do not use color dye or chemicals or bleach in summer as it is not the right season for them.

Comb the hair regularly as it stops the knot formation and increases the blood circulation in the hair roots.

Do not tie the hair hard as it makes them lifeless and reduces their strength.
